A Quick Bridge from Part 1
If you read Part 1, you know who I am and why change became non-negotiable. What I only hinted at was the hardest part to write about: relationships – and a heartbreak that became a catalyst.
The Heartbreak (Told With Respect)
Dating was difficult while I carried a constant fog of not-enough. Then, on a vacation, I met someone. We talked – and basically never stopped. It felt cinematic. For the first time, patience seemed rewarded and puzzle pieces formed a picture: an adventurous life together, even in another country I had always loved. I knew long distance would be hard; I was ready to make it work.
And then it ended. I will tell the full story another time, with care and respect. For now, the choice it forced is what matters.
The Choice
I saw two paths:
- Drift back into old habits and low standards
- Use the pain as fuel to raise every standard I live by
I chose the second.
The First Steps – From Quick Fixes to Self-Respect
Like many, I started with the algorithm bait: how to get your ex back. If there were a magic formula, I would have found it. The real through-line was simpler and harder: love yourself first. Videos about manifestation resurfaced The Secret, which I had seen 15 years ago. It used to feel woo-woo; now it felt like a starting point.
Today my take is grounded: attention leads beliefs, beliefs guide consistent actions, actions create results. I also began shadow work – looking honestly at patterns I had ignored.
The Click
One belief changed my behavior: stability without growth is drift. If I keep aiming at fine, I will keep getting fine. I want alignment – one clear axis of standards I can measure against.
The Roadmap I am Following
This is the high-level plan I am using to reach future me. Each pillar will get its own post with specifics and templates, so I am keeping it concise here.
- Clarify Goals and Identity
- Self Concept Routine
- Morning affirmations
- Meditations
- EFT Tapping
- Subliminal’s at night
- Nervous System Regulation
- Healthy habits
Outro
That’s why I’m writing this blog. I turn 30 next summer, and I’m going all in. Nothing to lose. I love “how I turned my life around” videos—but this is a real-time record of doing it, not a recap.
